Community Museum Accreditation Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

AMaGA Victoria’s Accreditation programs bring about positive change by supporting Victorian organisations to ethically preserve and manage collections and enrich community experiences. The Community Museum Accreditation Program (CMAP) contributes to capable and sustainable volunteer managed organisations, embedded in community by strengthening practice using the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries for guidance, and providing access to industry knowledge. CMAP has been managed by AMaGA Victoria since 1993. The program is supported by a large number of Victorian museums and galleries, industry professionals, and volunteers.

CMAP PARTICIPANTS

CMAP works with Accredited participants via Reaccreditation, which is a forward-looking review process that takes place on a 6 yearly cycle.  You can explore Victoria’s Accredited organisations via our geolocated map below.

ENROLMENT

CMAP is presently conducting a comprehensive review to enhance its processes and is not accepting new enrolments at this time. If your organisation is interested in Accreditation, you are welcome to contact the Accreditation Programs Managers via  map@amagavic.org.au
