WORKSHOP: Flood recovery

In partnership with AICCM, this hands-on workshop focusing on flood recovery will provide participants with the skills required to assist in salvaging collection items damaged by flood and other water related disasters. 

The workshop will cover:

  • A presentation and discussion on disaster preparedness and recovery with a focus on floods and water related disasters.
  • An overview of the challenges faced during flood recovery.
  • Introduction to best practice procedures for identifying, prioritising, and salvaging water damaged collection items.
  • An opportunity to practice recovery techniques including the safe handling of water-logged materials and drying methods.

Participants will gain a greater understanding of the challenges faced during flood recovery and the confidence to assist in future recovery efforts.
