Exhibition Development & Design (Part 2/2) [Past Event]

Part two of a two-part series providing an introduction to exhibition development and design, targeted at small community museums and local history groups. This session will cover design principles as well as installation and display techniques for exhibitions. It covers handling of artwork, a range of hanging techniques, making exhibition labels and the use of hanging equipment. It also looks the use of screens, plinths and display cabinets as well as how to get a professional look using lighting techniques and colour.
Kitty Owens is a freelance history curator who delivered the Roving Curator Program for AMaGA Victoria from 2014-2019. Kitty has worked in curatorial roles for the Koorie Heritage Trust, University of Melbourne and the Arts Centre, and has recently undertaken creative heritage interpretation projects for the City of Moreland, and curated a postal exhibition about Edgars Creek, for the Friends of Westgarthtown.
