Sneak Peek – Sovereign Hill

Wed 16 Nov, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

The Sovereign Hill Living Museum is a much-loved Victorian institution. While many of us have memories of a school excursion as kids, as with many museums, there is much, much more than what you see on the surface – and with a new Master Plan, the organisation is undertaking a major development and expansion!

The Gold Museum has transitioned to two centres of deep learning and research that include the nationally significant Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. The Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections builds on Sovereign Hill’s nationally significant collections, providing visitors and researchers with greater accessibility. The Centre is in close proximity to the Rare Trades Centre, providing an opportunity to connect contemporary practice with the richness of the entire museum collection.
