Funded by the Victorian Government, this state-wide project will provide regional communities with the opportunity to digitally preserve their collections and receive onsite training in the areas of collections care, preventative conservation and risk mitigation in the face of natural disaster events.

Expressions of Interest
AMaGA Victoria have released a call-out for Expressions of Interest from Victorian organisations who would like to participate in the program. The selected organisations will receive up to six days of onsite training, divided into two separate three-day sessions, held approximately three weeks apart. In the first session, participants will receive hands-on training in collections care and digitisation, and will also be able to select a skills-focused workshop most relevant to their organisation's needs.

In the second session, organisations will receive further digitisation training and additional catalogue photography time with an allocated trainer. Repeat visitation will ensure all organisations are sufficient in the skillsets needed to continue the digitisation journey.

This project is free of charge, with all organisations receiving high quality digital files of their collection items, relevant resources and high-level training to ensure long-term safekeeping of their collections.

As part of the project, local community members will be invited to participate in a public digitisation day, enabling personal precious items to also be documented for safekeeping. Spaces will be limited and the location of these sessions will be decided in consultation with the organisation.
