AMaGA Victoria has developed a series of free practical training videos reflecting best practice technique on caring for and providing access to museum collections.
ORAL HISTORY INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO
The video was developed as part of the Veterans Heritage Project, made by Tiny Empire Collective, is presented by Sarah Rood, Principal Historian with Way Back When Consulting Historians. This excellent resource provides an overview of ethical and research considerations, and use of technology for preserving oral histories.
Creating a Small Exhibition
Creating a small themed exhibition is a great way to showcase a particular story from your collection without having to rethink your permanent exhibition space. This video will illustrate how you can create a small one-cabinet themed exhibit, or a series of cabinets to create an exhibition.

Photographing Your Collection Items
This video demonstrates ways in which you can use basic equipment to photograph your collection items for documentation and digitisation purposes. Using objects from the Museums Victoria Humanities Collection, Peta Knott demonstrates how to photograph a variety of items including three dimensional objects, shiny items, framed works and books.
