COVID-19 is an ongoing public health concern, affecting us personally, our families, our communities and our organisations. First and foremost, our thoughts and priorities lie with the health and wellbeing of our sector and wider community. We wish to extend our gratitude to our healthcare workers and those providing essential services.
Coming off the back of a disastrous summer of bushfires in 2019/20, and with ongoing flooding and severe weather events experienced throughout 2020 and 2021, we are conscious that the needs of our members have shifted significantly. AMaGA Victoria is dedicated to developing ways to meet the emerging needs of our members, whilst continuing to provide existing services.

AMaGA Victoria 'Operating Museums and Galleries During Covid 19' Guidelines
These guidelines are designed to provide information and resources to assist small to medium museum, gallery and collecting organisations to navigate this complex process and must be considered in the context of current advice from the Department of Health and Human Services.
This resource is a live document which will be periodically reviewed and updated as more information is available and further restrictions are lifted.

Museum Accreditation Program (MAP)
We understand that many current MAP participants have concerns and queries relating to COVID-19. The MAP Managers are on hand to discuss issues experienced by MAP participant organisations during the pandemic, please contact us via email.
In line with the current health advice, MAP is not undertaking any site visits or physical meetings. Prior to COVID-19, MAP had already cancelled visits for 2020 to undertake a review of the program. The review is continuing, and MAP will be continue to update participants regarding changes to the program and 2021 scheduling when finalised.
Memberships (new and renewing) are being processed as per AMaGA National Office procedures. If you would like to renew your membership, but do not want to use the online payment system, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and phone number and AMaGA staff will give you a call to renew over the phone.
Our training workshops are offered via digital delivery and bookable through the Events and Training page. The Collections Management System (CMS) is web-based and can be used by organisations to familiarise themselves with cataloguing and digitisation requirements via any internet-connected device. There are 'Help' pages, information sheets, and how-to videos available to help guide you through the cataloguing process. Questions and comments about the system can be sent via our Helpdesk. More information about Victorian Collections, including the Regional Digitisation project, is available on this website and you can follow our social media for more regular updates.
