Regional Gallery Digitisation Project
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Regional Gallery Digitisation Project was managed by AMaGA Victoria in collaboration with Creative Victoria and funded through the Victorian State Government’s Working for Victoria initiative. This was a short-term project delivered in 2021 that supported the digitisation and management of collections at twelve galleries and museums across regional Victoria through the placement of 16 support officers. The team supported each host gallery’s digitisation goals and objectives through a range of activities, including but not limited to:
Digitising and photographing collections, including image processing
Undertaking data clean-up and review
Upload of digitised material to Collection Management Systems, including Victorian Collections
Migrating collection data across Collection Management Systems
Working on policy, foundation, and procedural documentation
Exhibition install and deinstall
Creating social media content and sharing collection stories
